"As a school, like all others, we never have enough money and are always on the hunt to save and not spend too much. Unfortunately there are some things that have to be paid for on a regular basis, and one of those is First Aid Training. Di Hughes had sent me her resume informing me that she was qualified to teach First Aid and the thing that was different, on a mercenary note, was that she charges per session and not per person – this was a great benefit to us.
 

However, although this was probably the first thing that got Di across the door step it soon became evident that we had made the right choice many times over.
 

Di did not just boringly show a PowerPoint presentation and retell the slides as they were showing. Her interpersonal connections with everybody on the course was friendly but immensely knowledgeable and supportive at the same time. She has a fun personality which made it easy to open up to her and work with her. She delivered information in an impressive way which made everybody on the course feel comfortable enough to ask questions without feeling the embarrassment of being wrong. This was particularly needed as we had two quite nervous learners in our group who Di constantly motivated over the period of training. She kept everybody engaged and interested and eager to learn.
 

The end result is that everybody came away with a good understanding of all areas of paediatric First Aid that they were previously unsure of and topped up on the knowledge that they had prior to the course and of course we all passed our tests and are once again qualified paediatric first aiders.
 

Having said all of the above, I would absolutely have no hesitation in asking Di to carry out any further First Aid training that my school would need and I would also highly recommend her to anybody else."
